- Cedar Mountain- is a small community located just twenty minutes south of the town of Brevard on Route 276 in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's just a thirty-minute ride from the Asheville Airport, but you'll feel like you're much further than that from the hustle and bustle of the city as you travel deep into the Pisgah National Forest that surrounds Cedar Mountain. The views here are spectacular and there is so much to see and do in this region of the state. The Cedar Mountain area has some of the state's most stunning scenery - more than 250 waterfalls, 200 miles of waterways and 470 miles of hiking trails can be found in the area. Activities include camping, fishing, horseback riding, rock-climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, swimming, whitewater rafting, canoeing and golf. There are almost two hundred well-marked biking trails in the Pisgah National Forest, all of them closely following the waterfalls and trout streams, and sometimes climbing to nearly 5000 feet. Within minutes you can be at the Dupont State Forest and the Caesar's Head State Park hiking trails, and just a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nearby Brevard has lots of shopping and restaurants, and is also home to the Brevard Music Center and the Brevard College Performing Arts Center.
